January is the favourite time of the year for many wrestling and WWE fans, why? Because
it’s time for the Royal Rumble! The Royal Rumble is a unique, over the top rope match
where particpants arrive in timed intervals. Winning the prestigous match often proppels
superstars to great heights, the winner gets a title shot at their chosen heavyweight
championship at Wrestlemania.
Who will win the match? Could it be the 2002 winner Triple H, who has seen Vince McMahon
and William Regal stack the odds against him in the build up to the event? Could it be
Smackdown’s Batista, who won the event in 2005?

Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy (WWE Championship Match)
WWE Champion Randy Orton faces Jeff Hardy who finally gets a shot at a Heavyweight title
in the WWE, Jeff Hardy has the momentum going into the match and has even scored a clean
pinfall against Orton in the build up to their match.
Rey Mysterio vs. Edge (World Heavyweight Championship Match)
Rey Mysterio challenges the hated Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship. The former
tag team partners have competed against each other in tag matches during the build up, can
Rey Mysterio capture the title for the second time in his career?
United States Champion MVP vs. Ric Flair (Career Threatening Match)
Smackdown’s MVP faces Ric Flair in a match that if he wins, will see the legendary Nature
Boy retire due to a clause imposed by Vince McMahon. Ric Flair will not loose without
giving it his all, he must be looking to have one last shot at a heavyweight title.
Chris Jericho vs. JBL
Chris Jericho’s return to the WWE and the championship has been halted by JBL, who robbed
him from a chance of beating Randy Orton. JBL looks to have the advantage over Jericho,
but Chris will be quicker and as always be armed with the “Walls of Jericho”.
