Reading are without a win in four Premiership games, having drawn two and lost two of those fixtures.
They were set to record a victory against Middlesbrough on Saturday, but a late equalising goal by Sanli prevented that.
The early week news from the Reading camp is that striker Leeroy Lita and defender Nicky Shorey have been told they can leave the club by manager Steve Coppell. It will be interesting to see if they start the game, or if they play any part at all.
Liverpool are currently in third place in the Premier League table after thrashing struggling Bolton 4-0 at Anfield last Saturday.
With Fernando Torres back to his best following his injury and Peter Crouch looking deadly in front of goal, Liverpool are starting to look like the side that many expected them to be this season.
The Red’s fans will have some fears ahead of this game, with Liverpool facing a vital fixture against Marseille on Tuesday. Will Rafa Benitez opt to rest some players for that game? If he does, this may not be a straight forward match.
