Tottenham are currenly 11th in the table, 15 points behind 4th placed Everton and six points behind 10th placed West Ham United.
On Monday Tottenham won the race to sign Middlesbrough’s England defender Jonathan Woodgate. It is believed that Spurs paid Middlesbrough around £8m for Woodgate’s services, who joined the club last season from Real Madrid.
