Clinton Woods v Antonio Tarver Live Online from Tampa, Florida for the IBF light-heavyweight title.
Sheffiled born Clinton Woods has an impressive record in his career so far, winning forty one of the forty four fights that has had had, twenty four of which by knockout.
The Southpaw Antonio Tarver earned the undisputed 175lb crown with a knockout of Roy Jones Jr in 2004. Many of you may recognise the man Tarver as the character who played pposite Sylvester Stallone in the film Rocky VI.
However his return to boxing was not as succesful as the film, as he was easily outpointed by Bernard Hopkins in 2006.
Since that defeat against Hopkins, Tarver has won both of his fights, which has dispelled any belief that his better days are behind him, despite now being thirty nine years of age.
Tarver has been full of confidence and in the build up to this bout told Clinton Woods “You’re an ordinary fighter – I’m an extraordinary fighter,”. “You’re sitting next to greatness, Homey. You’re not good enough to carry my bag.”
Not be out done, clinton woods responded “You got beaten by Grandad,” of course referring to Tarver’s defeat to Hopkins in 2006.
The boxing world is expecting a great bout between the two fighters.
